The dog, man's best friend |
We all know dogs are
probably our most loyal friends but are you treating your dog right? Sometimes
we believe that by providing food and shelter our dogs should be happy but how
many of us haven’t seen stray dogs around being sent to pounds? It goes to say
that if you can’t take complete care of a dog, then you’re better
off not owning one. However, if you want to own one, then you must have these
at your fingertips.
1. Very often we get
a pet dog as a gift from our neighbours so we hardly research the breed. Each
breed of dog has its own care essentials therefore it’s important to research
the breed and know the right treatment to provide. For example, some dogs may
require your personal training to bond rather than being sent to a trainer.
2. Build a
comfortable Kernel. Based on your weather conditions you should get a Kernel
that suits your climate if you intend to keep your dog in the backyard. If you
live in a hot and humid climate, building oil painted wooden kernel under
shades of trees would be perfect. Note however that, raising your dog in an open
compound is the best because dogs require companionship.
3. Hygiene is very
important in keeping your dog healthy, obviously. Find the best and most
nutritious food for your breeds and always ensure that your dogs have their
meals from very clean bowls to avoid common health issues like worm infection.
Ensure regular de‑worming
and vitamin taking for your dogs to keep them healthy and free from diseases
they may be prone to. Also importantly, ensure they have clean water to drink.
4. Get a tag with
your dog’s name on it so that when it strays, it can easily be located. Also
ensure that your dog is always on a leash when you take it for a walk. It would
save you a lot of trouble with the authorities if it has behavourial issues.
You should also check with authorities in your area requiring any permit or
registration issues before getting a dog
5. You should also
ensure that your dog gets all the necessary vaccinations as puppy and visits
the vet regularly for check‑ups.
6. Last but not
least, you need to train your dog. You could hire a trainer but your best bet
should be to train it yourself because the companionship would create a strong
and loyal bond between you. Here’s a great resource that could help you achieve
that Dog Care Essentials From The Best Trainer

found these tips helpful. Thank you.
Very good practical suggestions like these will create a happy and safe haven for your pet's.
ReplyDeleteWould n't it Cheryl? Very often we get the pets and think all we need is to feed them and let them live on their own. Thanks for you comment.
