A Simple Technique To Making Your Dog Meet Other Dogs Without A Fight

A Doberman
Have you had that experience when you brought home a new puppy and the older dogs in the house would not ‘welcome’ it? You know, where the ‘big daddy dog’ of the house would growl at the little puppy if it tries to come near him? How about that experience where you meet dogs whilst taking yours for a walk and then it suddenly becomes aggressive and attempts to free itself from the leash to go attack? This can be very scary and dangerous, really, because if you don’t take control and it breaks lose, you’re going to have one hell of a fight that you may not be able to stop. So how do you solve this problem? Now, to even make your dog obey your commands, you need to become a pack leader, first and foremost. This online teaching resource: Stop Dog Fights would supply you the absolute details of how to become a pack leader and what you should do in such a situation for $1 three day trial. I suggest you click on the link and find out for yourself. In the meantime, here’s a gist of what to do.

Know What Your Dog Is Feeling In The Moment

So, how do you determine what your dog’s feelings are in the moment? There’s a thin line between a dog feeling excited and aggression. This can be difficult to determine because dogs act similarly in both situations. The way to determine its feeling in the moment is to observe the other dog’s behavior in response to your dog’s. If the other dog acts scared or aggressive then it’s a clear signal that yours is in an aggressive mood.

How do you fix this?

Keep your distance as much as possible from the other dog until your dog is calm. Better still, there are effective methods you can learn to calm down an overly aggressive dog as a pack leader. You’ll find all that here: The Online Dog Trainer.  After calming it, walk your dog over to meet the other dog without saying anything or interrupting their interaction. Let them interact freely as much as possible but if you sense any form of aggression coming up, pull it away. The point here is to show your dog that you’re in control and you’re not going to tolerate any form of bad behavior. However, if it behaves, you would reward it by allowing it to meet other dogs. Never take your dog to meet another dog when it’s excited or in an aggressive state. It would mean rewarding bad behavior and that would create serious problems for you in the future.
