Why This Dog Breed Isn't Easily Trainable

The Shiba Inu

The Shiba Inu dog breed is one of the six known native Japanese dog breeds. With small upright ears and cat-like traits, they were originally bred to hunt wild boars. However with time, they have grown into cozy companions. If you’re a lover of both cats and dogs like me, then this is your breed. Generally good natured, they are also known to be very bold and alert.

They are known to be stubborn, notoriously playful and charming which makes them difficult to trainOverall however, they are loyal with an awesome personality and make great companions. They also make great family companions once trained and socialized early as puppies. They adapt well to apartment living and require enough space for training and playing. It must however be noted that, their restless and notoriously playful nature, require that, they are constantly kept on a leash. Unleash a shiba Inu and it would go chasing after birds, cats and other pets in the house. Some of the diseases that the Shiba Inu is prone to are hip dysplasia, elbow dysplasia, hypothyroidism, and von Willebrand's disease.

Over-all, once well trained this curly tailed, fox-like and ninja-like dog breed is great to have around the house. Due to its notoriously charming personality, some say, owning this dog breed is a way of life. What do you think?

The Alaskan Malamute - A Gentle Giant?

The Alaskan Malamute

Are you looking for an imposing dog breed which is intelligent, gentle and with the power to withstand stress? Then I recommend the Alaskan Malamute! mainly residing in the very cold weather of Alaska, they were originally bred for hunting polar bears, seals and for pulling heavy sleds over long distances. For a breed raised to hunt polar bears, one would think they are fierce in behaviour but they have metamorphosed into ‘gentle and friendly giants’ overtime, excelling in several dog sports, especially ones involving pulling weights.

This dog breed is very obedient to commands, once trained early and very well. The Alaskan Malamute could get cozy and watch TV with you one moment but if not guided and trained well, you may find it digging in the trash can for food or digging the backyard, the next. They require a large enough compound space to play and exercise. This dog breed loves to play the Alpha role in the house, therefore it’s very important for the owner to established very early that, there are other heads in the household and that, it’s not the pack leader. That’s why it’s important for the owner of this dog breed to know how to establish his/her pack leadership early in the training process. By the way, if you want to learn how to be the pack leader, to teach your own dog to stop such behaviours and many more, read this HOW TO TRAIN YOUR OWN DOG . It’s not as complicated as some people make it seem. Go figure out.

Though the Alaskan Malamute was bred for very cold weather, they can also withstand hot weather. If you’re looking for a guard dog, this one’s not for you because once trained well, it becomes very cozy and friendly to all including strangers and other animals like cats. Simply put, it’s a very good breed to keep with other pets. The only protection it provides is its fierce looks which may scare away intruders who do not know this breed very well. It’s not recommended for first time owners, though they can be owned by anyone with good guidance and training. This dog breed is highly recommended for anyone looking for a fierce looking, but gentle friend.

Do you want to own an Alaskan Malamute? Well, don’t be scared, all you need is the right guidance and training, that’s why I recommend this to you. Click here : The Online Dog Trainer and learn more. All comments, opinions and sharing of this article are welcomed.

3. Did you hire a trainer instead only to discover that your dog returned with the same behavior traits, like, not coming when called, defecating anywhere, attacking and biting strangers, constant crying when left all alone, not responding to your commands, stealing, separation anxiety issues and general aggression towards everything including you sometimes?

I have decided to tell everyone about it because of my experience. If you need more information, go here after reading this review Best Online Dog Trainer

Doggy Dan and how to crate train a puppy (pay close attention)....

The Boerboel you see in the photo is viny, my dog. I already had two untrained older dogs (a mongrel and a Doberman, both dead). I thought Viny would easily mingle but guess what? I was wrong! My older dogs became extra aggressive not only towards viper but towards me. I hired a trainer. After spending close to $600, they came back with very little change in behavior. Then, i started researching the internet for personal training ideas (God bless cyberspace). That was when I came across this website: affiliate link) offering online training skills. Within 3 weeks of subscribing and applying the techniques, I was able to eliminate over 5 common behaviours. I was also literally able to ‘teach my old dogs new tricks’ oh yes, that also happened!!And oh, the online lessons gave me the best knowledge in how to crate train a puppy which I effectively applied on Viny. At this point, I am considering giving Doggy Dan a huge competition by opening my own online school, haha.

ARE THERE ANY DOWNSIDES??

The training is done mainly online so one needs regular internet connection and as we all know, technology can disappoint sometimes based on many factors. However, compared to the amount I have had to spend in the past visiting trainers, pet shops and vets this has been far better. You can sign-up for a 3 day trial for just, believe it or not, $1. If you don’t like the program, you can exit without any conditions. The benefits are immense. Apart from personal coaching, Doggy Dan offers you several of his videos and books of very high market value for free once you become a member. I won’t bore you much further. The Only Dog Breed That Can Solve Maths

The Border Collie

Question! What influences your decision when choosing a dog breed to get? Is it a fierce look and nature or a cute face and a ‘couch dog’ trait? Is it intelligence or how easily trainable it is? No matter what the influences are, I guess most people would love a highly trainable and intelligent dog that would remain loyal and obedient. These breeds really make life easy. Did you also know that the more intelligent a breed, the less repetition of a command one has to apply in training? By the way there’s an important resource for training your own dog through online lessons from the comfort of your home. If like me, you want to avoid spending over $500 to get your dog trained unsuccessfully then click here to find out (The Online Dog Trainer). For just $1 and for three days, you get to have over $500 market worth of training material that enables you to give your new dog the basic training. Go check it out and thank me later.

Ok, back to the subject…. Did you know that there is a particular dog breed that is so highly intelligent it can be taught maths and vocabulary? This breed is called the Border Collie. The Border Collie was originally bred as an intelligent and obedient dog to herd sheep so that’s where they operate best. However, just like most breeds, they have evolved into very lovable family pets. You know the dog that would run around in the park catching Frisbees? Yeah that’s likely to be a Border Collie. They say never let a Border Collie off a leash or you’re in trouble! Since they were originally bred to herd sheep, theirs is to run around the herd of sheep and guide them towards a particular direction therefore they are hardly ‘couch dogs’. They require space and at least two hours a day of activity or they might start exhibiting some negative traits, like digging, howling, chewing stuff and destroying fences. They say these breeds are so smart, they can actually watch you and learn how to unlock the fence so that they can break loose and satisfy their need for regular activity, running around. As intelligent as the Border Collie is, it requires early training and socialization for it to completely obey commands. The great thing about them is that they are fast learners. It is therefore possible to turn a Border Collie into a ‘couch dog’ that understands maths and languages and performs advanced tasks with the right training approach. This approach starts with first and foremost, becoming the pack leader. The Online Dog Trainer provides you the best approach to training any dog including the Border Collie. Click here (The Online Dog Trainer)   to find out more.

On a scale of 1 to 10, I would personally recommend this breed as a 9 for anyone who wishes to own a highly loyal and intelligent dog. If you want family, friends and visitors to be enthralled by your pet, then the Border Collie is your dog. Feel free to share this article in any form if you found it useful. All comments are welcomed.

2 Simple Techniques To Stop Your Dog From Dragging You Around On A Leash

Dog pulling on the leash

You enjoy the walks with your dog but you’re scared that, if care is not taken, one day, it might break from the leash and probably engage in a nasty fight with another dog; it’s been pulling on the leash and dragging you around. By the way, if you want to know how to make your dog meet other dogs peacefully whilst taking it for a walk, read this How To make Your Dog Meet Other Dogs Without A Fight. Maybe you have a fierce breed which is not easily controllable. Why is this happening and how can you solve it?

Before I break it down, it’s important to know that, the process of altering such a behaviour can take time to teach since we’re dealing with animals here. However, it’s also possible to fix this problem in as short as 5 minutes.

Reasons

1.    The reason why this is happening in the first place is that, you did not learn the 5 golden rules of becoming the pack leader. This simply means that, at the beginning of training your dog, you did not establish yourself as the leader so it has grabbed that spot. This is a whole topic on its own which The Online Dog Trainer breaks it down into details for you on his site. I recommend you click here The 5 Golden Rules Of The Effective Pack Leader and visit the site to get the details.

2.    Another reason could be that it simply wants to attend to natures call, maybe sniff around and pee, who knows. I suspect most dog owners have a hang on this one, though it can be difficult to tell sometimes.

Solutions

1.    If your dog gets excited when it sees you with the leash in hand getting ready for a walk, do not condone its behavior by putting on the leash. Halt, turn and move away ignoring it, or better still drop the leash where it can see it. Wait until it’s calm and attempt putting the leash on. If it gets excited again, don’t do it. Repeat this sequence until it’s calm before putting on the leash. You need to repeat this everyday as long as the behavior of excitement continues. It would take some time but it would eventually understand the message you’re trying to convey.

2.    You have tried this but it still pulls ahead when you start the walk? No worries! Just when you start the walk, watch the direction it pulls you and go the opposite direction. If it pulls you to the right, change direction and move towards the left. You should do this immediately the walk starts and don’t wait for it to pull far ahead. Repeat this sequence until it gets the message you’re trying to convey. It would eventually get it and you would have your dog walking by your side obediently, instead of dragging you around and possibly injury your shoulders. Watch a short demonstration of this process in action from the expect online dog trainer in this video below.

This is just the basic approach but there is more to learn from the expert on his site The Online Dog Trainer. He would show you what devices to use in your walk routines. He even has 7 awesome videos on how to walk your dog and how to deal with every issue on the way. And oh, did I mention that, there’s actually a 30mins audio on the site giving you a step by step guide which you can listen to as you walk your dog. Go on, click here: The Online Dog Trainer and go figure out for yourself.

It’s important that you enjoy walking your dog with little or no hassle. I mean we should all have fun walking our dogs, right?? If you agree, then feel free to share this article. All comments are welcomed too.

The Azawakh – A Dog Breed You Would Love

Azawakh

The Azawakh is an elegant lean yet muscular dog that belongs to the hound dog breed. Its name was derived from the Azawakh Valley in the Sahara desert because that’s where you would find them. Their breed location however makes them quite adaptable to both tropical and temperate weathers. However, because of their lean and low fat figure, they require some form of body protection in very cold weather. But for, the different hair colours in which they come, most people would likely mistaken them for a different breed of Doberman. The Azawakh was mainly used as hunter and guardian companions to people in the Sahara region.

Like Dobermans, they are protective of, loyal and friendly to their owners but can be very suspicious of strangers especially when touched by them. Due to their hunting characteristics, they have a very sharp sight which makes them very sensitive towards moving objects but they make awesome jogging or hunting partners. Therefore, they are likely to chase other wandering animals or maybe a passing bike. They can be challenging when it comes to being trained. By the way, go here The Online Dog Trainer if you want to know how to train the most stubborn dog breed in the world. And you can do all this online from the comfort of your home at very little cost. Sorry for the digression, back to the subject.

If you like this breed of dog, then you should be ready to own a large fenced compound where it can have at least some thirty minutes run-around exercise daily. Their short hair makes grooming quite easy but you are advised to choose shampoos with care since they have quite a sensitive skin.

All in all, this is a breed of dog you would love because of its protective and loyalty nature.

Why Your Dog Is Destroying Stuff When You’re Not Around

A destructive dog needs your attention

Does this sound familiar to you? You go out everyday on a normal working day but every time you return your dog has dug some deep hole in the garden or maybe chewed the seats in the porch or even the shoes that were lying around? Maybe, your neighbours have also informed you that your dog disturbs them when you’re away to the point that they sometimes think your house is under attack from thieves? You can really run into trouble with the authorities if you don’t fix this behaviour. Yeah, I know this sounds pretty familiar but really, this can easily be solved. If you’re eager to know what to do to fix this problem immediately go here The Online Dog Trainer . For just $1 he would help you fix this problem in 3 days, trust me.

So why does this happen in the first place? When your dog behaves this way it simply implies that it’s stressed out. Stressed out because, it believes it’s the pack leader and it should be with you and be protecting you. Therefore once you’re out of sight, it feels helpless and becomes worried that something bad might happen to you and it would not be there to offer you the needed protection. This also means that, you have not followed the 5 Golden Rules of becoming the pack leader. This is very important in dog training if you require absolute control and obedience from your dog. The Online Dog Trainer offers this package in is HD videos online. Click on the link and check out the site and you would thank me later.

The point here is that, as humans, we react differently in stressful situations. Some of us react by abusing alcohol, exercising, getting away, over-eating or even spewing anger on others at the least provocation. Dogs are no different! The garden digging, the chewing, the excessive barking and all, is a way of expressing its frustration at not being able to protect you because you are away. There may be other reasons why your dog would express frustration, though! For example if it’s trying to convey a message that you’re not getting. For example my Doberman, Viper, who I used to cage (bad idea) before I met the TheOnline Dog Trainer, would kick his water bowl around whenever she’s thirsty and I was unaware. She would never eat until I fill her water bowl. The message here is clear. At that moment, she needs water not food. However, immediately after drinking some water, she would eat everything. This was initially difficult to understand until I started using The Online Dog Trainer’s resources. Dogs react mostly due to the reason I have given earlier and that is why it’s important to learn how to become the pack leader and take absolute control to avoid trouble. Go here: The Online DogTrainer and get the details. Feel free to share this article if you found it useful. Also, feel free to share your opinions.

A Simple Technique To Making Your Dog Meet Other Dogs Without A Fight

A Doberman
Have you had that experience when you brought home a new puppy and the older dogs in the house would not ‘welcome’ it? You know, where the ‘big daddy dog’ of the house would growl at the little puppy if it tries to come near him? How about that experience where you meet dogs whilst taking yours for a walk and then it suddenly becomes aggressive and attempts to free itself from the leash to go attack? This can be very scary and dangerous, really, because if you don’t take control and it breaks lose, you’re going to have one hell of a fight that you may not be able to stop. So how do you solve this problem? Now, to even make your dog obey your commands, you need to become a pack leader, first and foremost. This online teaching resource: Stop Dog Fights would supply you the absolute details of how to become a pack leader and what you should do in such a situation for $1 three day trial. I suggest you click on the link and find out for yourself. In the meantime, here’s a gist of what to do.

Know What Your Dog Is Feeling In The Moment

So, how do you determine what your dog’s feelings are in the moment? There’s a thin line between a dog feeling excited and aggression. This can be difficult to determine because dogs act similarly in both situations. The way to determine its feeling in the moment is to observe the other dog’s behavior in response to your dog’s. If the other dog acts scared or aggressive then it’s a clear signal that yours is in an aggressive mood.

How do you fix this?

Keep your distance as much as possible from the other dog until your dog is calm. Better still, there are effective methods you can learn to calm down an overly aggressive dog as a pack leader. You’ll find all that here: The Online Dog Trainer.  After calming it, walk your dog over to meet the other dog without saying anything or interrupting their interaction. Let them interact freely as much as possible but if you sense any form of aggression coming up, pull it away. The point here is to show your dog that you’re in control and you’re not going to tolerate any form of bad behavior. However, if it behaves, you would reward it by allowing it to meet other dogs. Never take your dog to meet another dog when it’s excited or in an aggressive state. It would mean rewarding bad behavior and that would create serious problems for you in the future.

Like I said, there’s more to this so if you want all the juicy details, try The Online Dog Trainer. Feel free to share your thoughts if you found the article helpful. Don’t hesitate to share it. It might help someone.

How To Train Your Wild Puppy Not To Bite

A puppy biting on water hose

Do you scream at your dog when it attempts to bite strangers? It may be true that some breed of dogs are by nature very wild and would occasionally disobey instructions but what if I told you that the fault was from you? That it’s because your dog didn’t get the right training as a puppy? The common approach to training a puppy not to bite has been to give them your fingers for it to give you soft bites whilst telling them not to bite too hard at the same time. Wrong!! What you were actually doing is to teach it to bite human flesh but not too hard. I didn’t know this until I subscribed to Doggy Dan’s $1 free trial online training hereThe Online Dog Trainer .

Here are a few lessons I learnt.

Never give your puppy any part of your body to bite on as a  means of learning how not to bite. Isn’t it ironic that, you don’t want your dog to bite humans yet you teach it how to do it with your flesh? Ok so here’s what you should do instead. Give them anything appropriate like puppy toys or even, some safe-around-the -house things like parts of a broken tree, a stick etc to bite on. If it tries to bite on your body again and again, discourage it by directing it to the toys. I know it feels very good to have your new puppy lick and bite your fingers whilst you stroke, cuddle and almost kiss it. It’s lovely but don’t give it your flesh to bite. There are more situations to get cozy with your new dog. You can give a little scream in pain when it bites on any part of your body to let it know it’s painful. If it goes back to biting again on your fingers give it a time out by placing it down calmly. Leave it for at least five minutes and come back to start all over again. Keep repeating this method, everyday, it’s that simple. Note that it’s ok to tolerate your puppy’s accidental biting behavior when it’s about 8 weeks to 4 months old but never tolerate it after months. Also ensure that you always have something in your hands for it to bite on other than your body part. If you want to know more, subscribe to Doggy Dan’s online Training hereThe Online Dog Trainer

The point is, whatever it is, never scream or shout  ‘stop, stop’ at your puppy when it bites on your body part. Instead, set it down gently for some time and let it know that the bite was painful with a little scream of “ouch”!  Continue repeating the sequence until it get’s it.

The “Akita” – reasons why you should get this exotic dog

The Akita

Are you a pet lover, to be exact, a dog lover? Do you prefer the protective guard dog types? Ok, let me introduce this beautiful and exotic breed to you. At the end, I know you will be excited to add one to your pets. It’s called “Akita”! The ‘Akita’ is originally from Japan named after a province in north Japan. It was a breed that was originally used for hunting wild animals like the black bear and wild boar. It used to be a guard dog for Japanese royalty because of its loyalty and family guarding attributes. There are two main breeds, the original breed from Japan and the American standard breed which is much larger. It’s a large and powerful dog with some pretty small eyes for its large head.

Why you should get an Akita puppy…..

     1.      Confidence

What would you think of a breed of dog that weighs at least 100 pounds on the average and which used to hunt down black bears? The Akita has a strong and intimidating presence that can literally scare ‘Godzilla’. They are completely fearless and would never run away from most challenges. Your safest bet against danger and criminals, definitely.

     2.      Very loyal

As a very loyal Breed, the Akita would guard your family under any circumstances with the right treatment. The Akita would follow you to any place in your house everyday just to ensure that you and your family are safe from any form of danger. Awesome, isn’t it??

     3.      Intelligent

This breed of dog is also highly intelligent. It would never disturb the entire household with unnecessary barking unless there’s a need to. They say if you hear an “Akita” bark then there is something seriously wrong so you need to be extra alert. Some owners would even tell you that, if you pay close attention to your Akita’s murmurings you may take an opinion or two on how to set up your household. Yeah, that’s very right!! Better still, with the right training, you can give the Akita tasks like retrieving lost items. This breed of dog can pull your wrist to its leash simply because it wants to take a walk (smile).

The Downside Of Keeping This Awesome Pet…..

This breed of dog is not easy to train at all. Infact you need to do extensive research on training before bringing home an Akita puppy. It’s not a puppy you send to a trainer. They do not respond to harsh training (a method used in most standard training) because they can be quite stubborn. You have to do the training yourself together with your family or those you live with. This is because this breed of dog requires companionship to create loyalty and protect you and those around you. By the way, if you want the best online resource on how to train any breed of dog on your own, go here: Best Online Dog Trainer. This guy can literally teach a dog to go fishing, haha. Now back to the subject. This breed is not your everyday lapdog despite its intelligent and loyal nature so it’s not advised for the first time dog owner. They are very wary of strangers unless the owner is around. A prolonged eye contact with this breed would raise its ‘suspicion antennae’. Finally, the Akita is not a dog for your backyard. Cage it in the backyard and it would become lonely and aggressive towards everything.

All in all, this is an awesome breed of dog. Treat it right and you have a loyal friend for life. The combination of absolute loyalty, confidence, strength and intelligence makes it a must have. Don’t you think so?

How Much Should I Feed My Puppy?

A puppy

Have you been asking yourself this question – “how much should i feed my dog or puppy”? Which dog breed type of puppies do you have? Breeds with smaller puppies or those with large puppies? Do you feed them the every day ordinary meal with at least some beef, etc? It may seem simple but how much to feed a puppy or your dog, really isn't. Honestly, you’re not alone. Many of us take our puppy's feeding for granted. Feed your puppy the wrong diet in the right portion and vice versa and they may be crippled with one disease or another for life. Here are a couple of useful but basic tips that every pet owner should know. However, if you require deeper knowledge and real action in how much to feed a puppy or a dog, go here - How to feed your dog . You would learn exactly what to do in any situation.

Breast Feeding

First of all, it’s absolutely important that you allow breast feeding for at least the first 5 weeks. It’s considered safe to introduce small amounts of food in the right portion after this period, though the eventual weaning should occur around 8 weeks. Today, it’s common scientific knowledge that human breast feeding is the best for newly born babies. This goes to say that nature has its own ways. This also applies to all animals including puppies. Breast feeding offers the best foundational nutrition like proteins for growth and calcium for strong bone formation, in a balanced proportion for all living things including puppies. It goes without saying that if you are going to get a puppy, then you should make sure it’s been weaned off breast feeding or you might have to strain to find the right nutritional balance to feed it. There’s nothing like natural food.

LARGER PUPPIES VS SMALLER PUPPIES

It’s important to note that dog breeds with smaller puppies are fed differently from those with larger puppies. Smaller puppies usually require more protein and calcium than larger puppies. This can be a little elusive. Assuming you have both small puppy and large puppy breeds that were born on the same day, the temptation would be to assume that they would mature at the same time so you’re likely to feed them in like manner but that shouldn't be the case. Simply put, dog breeds with smaller puppies usually mature 12 months earlier than dog breeds with larger puppies. It is therefore essential to note the distinction. It’s safe to use the free feeding method for dogs with smaller breed puppies; the free method being, allowing them to have as much fill as they can. They would usually adapt to any food given them. However, with  larger breed puppies, it’s important to control the portion of food given them since they would take longer to reach maturity. It is therefore essential to feed them with the right amount of food and nutrients because most of these breeds are prone to bone diseases. Too much protein or calcium or less of both can cripple your dog for life therefore you need a balance. For the best methods, like I said, find more information here How to feed your dog.IF you found this article useful, feel free to share.l, feel free to share.

Finger tip Dog Care Essentials For Pet Owners

The dog, man's best friend

We all know dogs are probably our most loyal friends but are you treating your dog right? Sometimes we believe that by providing food and shelter our dogs should be happy but how many of us haven’t seen stray dogs around being sent to pounds? It goes to say that if you can’t take complete care of a dog, then you’re better off not owning one. However, if you want to own one, then you must have these at your fingertips.

1. Very often we get a pet dog as a gift from our neighbours so we hardly research the breed. Each breed of dog has its own care essentials therefore it’s important to research the breed and know the right treatment to provide. For example, some dogs may require your personal training to bond rather than being sent to a trainer.

2. Build a comfortable Kernel. Based on your weather conditions you should get a Kernel that suits your climate if you intend to keep your dog in the backyard. If you live in a hot and humid climate, building oil painted wooden kernel under shades of trees would be perfect. Note however that, raising your dog in an open compound is the best because dogs require companionship.

3. Hygiene is very important in keeping your dog healthy, obviously. Find the best and most nutritious food for your breeds and always ensure that your dogs have their meals from very clean bowls to avoid common health issues like worm infection. Ensure regular deworming and vitamin taking for your dogs to keep them healthy and free from diseases they may be prone to. Also importantly, ensure they have clean water to drink.

4. Get a tag with your dog’s name on it so that when it strays, it can easily be located. Also ensure that your dog is always on a leash when you take it for a walk. It would save you a lot of trouble with the authorities if it has behavourial issues. You should also check with authorities in your area requiring any permit or registration issues before getting a dog
